PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c., &c.

IN exercise of the power and authority, enabling me in that behalf, I, OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, do hereby withdraw all that Parcel of Land hereinafter described, situate within the boundaries of the Nelson South-west Goldfields, from the operation of the Goldfields Act, and declare the same open for sale from and after the date hereof, that is to say :—

All that Block of Land comprising the Surveyed Sections on Pike's lower Flat, River Grey, containing by admeasurement Eight Hundred and Fifty Acres, more or less, bounded on the Northward by a line drawn from a peg marked XV. on the traverse of the River Groy, to the North-East angle of Section 70—Eleven Thousand Six Hundred Links; On the Eastward by the Eastern boundaries of Section 70 to 80, and 57 to 61; On the Southward by the Southern boundary of Section 61; and on the Westward by the River Grey; exclusive of Section 52, containing twenty-nine Acres, One Rood, and Twenty-four Perches.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this Twenty-ninth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

GOLD MINING LEASES.

Superintendent's Office,
Nelson, 4th June, 1869.

IT is hereby notified that it is intended, after the expiration of two months from the date hereof, to grant Leases for Gold Mining Purposes of the Crown Land within the District of the Nelson South West Goldfields, hereinafter described, viz :—

  1. A Block of Land containing Four Acres, Two Roods and Thirty-eight Perches, more or less, situated at Candlelight Flat, near Charleston, applied for by PATRICK SMITH, and others, (Maiden City Company).

  2. A Block of Land containing Four Acres, Two Roods, and Thirteen Perches, more or less, situated at Argyle Terrace, Charleston, applied for by WILLIAM PEARSON, and others, (Argyle Cement Crushing Company).

  3. A Block of Land containing One Acre, Two Roods, and Twelve Perches, more or less, situate at Candlelight Flat, near Charleston, applied for by FREDERICK CROMA, (Croma and Company).
