THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that a Writ issued for the Election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the City of Nelson has been returned, with a Certificate to the effect that
FRANCIS WEMYSS IRVINE,
of the City of Nelson, Householder, has been duly elected.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, NELSON DISTRICT.
NOTICE is hereby given, that His Honor Mr. Justice RICHMOND has appointed The Westport Times newspaper to be, from and after the 1st day of December next, the Gazette for the purposes of \"The Bankruptcy Act, 1867,\" and \"The Bankruptcy Act Amendment Act, 1868,\" for such part of the Judicial District of Nelson appointed under \"The Supreme Court Act, 1860,\" as lies to the southward and westward of a line drawn straight from Rock\'s Point to the summit of Mount Arthur, and thence due south to the southern boundary of the said District.
