PROCLAMATION.
By his Honour OSWALD CURTIS, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c.
WHEREAS by certain proclamations issued under the hand of ALFRED SAUNDERS, Esquire, as Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, and bearing date respectively the thirty-first day of July, 1865, the first day of September, 1866, the third day of September, 1866, certain lands within the said Province were declared to be a Gold-field, within the meaning of the "Gold-fields Act," and called or styled the "Nelson South-West Gold-fields":
And whereas, it is desirable and expedient to alter and extend the boundaries of the said Gold-field :
Now, therefore, I, OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, by virtue, and in exercise of the powers and authorities in me vested in that behalf, do hereby revoke all former proclamations declaring the boundaries of the Nelson South-West Gold-fields, and declare and proclaim that on and after the date hereof: All the land comprised within the undermentioned boundaries shall be a Gold-field, for the purposes of "The Gold-fields Act, 1866," and that the same shall be called "The Nelson South-West Gold-fields"; commencing at Weka Kura Point, on the sea-coast, thence following the boundary of the Collingwood Gold-field to Mount Arthur, thence in a straight line to Mount Owen, thence along the top of the ranges eastward of the river Hope to its junction with the Buller, thence to the nearest peak of range forming the watershed between the River Howard and Mount Kotaroa, thence along the top of the range to Mount Travers, thence along the top of the range to Mount Mackay and Mount Franklin, thence along the top of the range of the Spencer Mountains to Travers' Peak, thence following the watershed to the saddle between the heads of the Teremakau and Hurunui Rivers, thence by the Northern boundary of the County of Westland to the mouth of the River Grey on the sea-coast, thence along the sea-coast to Weka Kura Point: excepting :—

All the sections now surveyed in the District of Karamea.

All the surveyed sections in the townships of Westport and Hampden, other than those on the "Public Quay and Colliery Reserve," on the township of Westport.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement one thousand four hundred and one acres, be the same more or less, being Sections numbered 1 and 2 on Square numbered 119 on the plan of the Province of Nelson, bounded as follows: by a line bearing 90° 15' magnetic, from a peg marked Δ on the bank of the River Grey, 3,350 links; thence by a line bearing 180° 15' magnetic, to a peg marked A, 2,900 links; thence by a line bearing 143° magnetic, 8,650 links; thence by line bearing 233° magnetic,
