Superintendent's Office,

Nelson, 12th May, 1868.

MESSRS. JOHN IRWIN and JOHN BEEHAN are hereby authorised, under the Provisions of Section XIII of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," to charge tolls, as per schedule, on their Tramway from Charleston to the Darkies' Terrace, which is protected for a period of five years, from May 1st, 1867, on the following conditions:-

  1. That the Tramway be maintained in such a state of repair that it shall not, in the slightest degree, impede, or obstruct, or interfere with the traffic in the street.
  2. That in the event of the ground over which the Tramway passes proving auriferous, any person shall be entitled to work it, on first paying compensation at a valuation, or making an equally good portion of Tramway.
  3. That this protection shall extend only to the ground over which the Tramway passes, and shall not affect the right of any other persons to lay down Tramways in any direction.
  4. That if at any time any portion of the ground should be required by Government, any portion of the Tramway shall be given up at a valuation.
  5. That this protection shall not be assigned or transferred without the sanction of the Goldfields Commissioner.

IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF WESTLAND NORTH, HOLDEN AT WESTPORT, IN BANKRUPTCY.

In the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867," and in the matter of LOUIS EHRENFRIED, and BERNHARD EHRENFRIED, both of Westport, in the Province of Nelson and Colony of New Zealand, Storekeepers, trading in co-partnership under the style or firm of "EHRENFRIED BROTHERS," Bankrupts.

NOTICE is hereby given, that this Honorable Court did, this day, appoint a public sitting to be held on the 2nd day of June now next ensuing, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at the Court-house, at Westport, above-mentioned, for the above-named Bankrupts to their last examination, and to make application for their discharge.

In the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867," and in the matter of HENRY LAMB KENNEDY, of Charleston, in the Province of Nelson, and Colony of New Zealand, Hotel-keeper.

NOTICE is hereby given, that this Honorable Court did, this day, adjudge the above-named HENRY LAMB KENNEDY, Bankrupt, appoint a first meeting of his Creditors, and prescribe Wednesday, the 20th day of May now instant, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at the office of FRANCIS HARRIS, Esquire, Clerk of this Court, at the Court-House above-mentioned, as the day, hour, and place, of the said meeting; and Tuesday, the 2nd day of June now next ensuing, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at the Court-House aforesaid, is the time within which the said Bankrupt, HENRY LAMB KENNEDY, is required to surrender.

NOTICE is hereby given, that this Honorable Court did, this day, adjudge the above-named WILLIAM NAHR, Bankrupt, appoint a first meeting of his Creditors to be held, and prescribe Wednesday, the 20th day of May now instant, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at the office of FRANCIS HARRIS, Esquire, Clerk of this Court, at the Court-House, at Westport above-mentioned, as the day, hour, and place of the said meeting; and Tuesday, the 2nd day of June now next ensuing, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at the Court-House aforesaid, as the time within which the said Bankrupt, WILLIAM NAHR, is required to surrender.
