THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified for general information, that the Justices' Order, dated 16th day of July, 1867, granting the Alteration of certain Roads in the Brook-street Valley, in the District of Suburban South, as described in the application of JOHN BLACKETT, Provincial Engineer, and THOMAS BRUNNER, Chief Surveyor, published in the Nelson Government Gazette, No. 17, of the 23rd May, 1867, has been confirmed by the Superintendent and Executive Council.

RULES adopted by the trustees of the Nelson Public Cemetery:β€”

  1. The exclusive right of burial in any plot of ground in this Cemetery shall be purchasable at one shilling per square foot.
  2. No burial plot shall contain less than forty-eight square feet (12 feet by 4).
  3. No person shall hold more than six of such plots.
  4. The top of any coffin shall not be less than four feet from the natural level of the soil.
  5. Applications for exclusive right of burial must be made, in writing, through the Secretary or the Sexton, to the Trustees.
  6. The fee for every interment in this Cemetery shall be twenty shillings, which charge shall include the services of the grave-digger and sexton.
  7. This fee shall be paid to the resident sexton.
  8. The holders of plots of burial ground shall observe such rules respecting the enclosure, fencing, and decent maintenance of the same as shall from time to time be laid down by the Trustees.

FEMALE DOMESTIC SERVANTS.

SEVERAL Female Domestic Servants, Needlewomen, Shop Assistants, Nursery Governesses, &c., of good character, carefully selected by His Lordship Bishop Suter, have sailed for this Port in the "Cissy" and may be expected to arrive in September next. Persons desirous of engaging any of the above mentioned Servants, will please send in their applications to this office at an early date stating all particulars as to duties, wages, &c.
