PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor OSWALD CURTIS,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Province
of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zea-
land, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS certain Proclamations have
been from time to time issued under
"The Country Roads Act, 1856", declaring
certain lines of Road to be Trunk Roads
for the purposes of the said Act. And
whereas it is expedient that those Procla-
mations should be revoked and fresh lines
of Road proclaimed to be Trunk Roads
under the said Act.

Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the
Province of Nelson, by virtue of the power
and authority enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby revoke all Proclamations heretofore
published, declaring certain lines of Road
to be Trunks Roads, and proclaim and declare
the lines of Roads hereinafter described to
be TRUNK ROADS, for the purposes of
the said "Country Roads Act."

PROVINCIAL TRUNK LINES.

To commence from the line known as the Native
Boundary Line, being the north-eastern boundary of
section numbered 38 Happy Valley-square 23, and
to continue along the road now in use to the
western boundary of section numbered 1 Suburban
North, Square 23.

To commence at the limit of the city of Nelson and
to continue along the track now in use up the valley
of the Maitai, over the Saddle Hill and terminating
at the Heringa.

To commence from the north-eastern boundary of
section 6 Suburban South Square 1, and to continue
along the road now in use passing through the
village of Richmond, thence to the bridge over the
Wairoa, thence through the villages of Stoke Grove,
Lower and upper Wakefield, and Fox Hill, then
by the valley of the Wai-iti over the ranges and down
Hay's Valley to the Motueka Valley, and up that
valley to M'Farlane's, thence up the Long Valley and
over the range to the Motupiko, and thence through
the Big Bush to the accommodation-house kept by
Mr. Wiesenhavern.

To commence at King's Corner, Lower Wakefield,
and to continue along the line of road now in use
through the 98 valley and Quail Valley until it joins
the line of road leading from Fox Hill to the top
house.

To commence from the line of road running
through the valley of the Wai-iti and to take the line
of road now in use over Spooner's Range, and down
Norris' valley to the valley of the the Motueka,
and to continue along the line of road in section num-
bered 70 Motueka Valley, and to continue along the
line of road now in use up the valley of the Tadmor
and over the range to the Sherry, and across the plain
to the banks of the river Wangapeka.

To commence from the main line of road at the
corner of section 7 Waimea South square 2, and to
and to continue along the line of road now in use up
the valley known as Pigeon Valley, and over the
ranges to Stanley Brook, and down the valley of the
Stanley to sections numbered 110 and 111 on square

6, and thence over the range to the river Motueka at
section numbered 122 Motueka Valley square 6.

To commence from the line of road leading up the
Pigeon Valley to Stanley Brook, and to take the line
of road now in use up the right hand branch of the
Pigeon Valley and thence over the hills to the Dove
Dale-road.

To commence at the port of West Waimea and to
take the line of road now in use to the Roman Catho-
lic Reserve on section 60, and by the same line of
road to the gravel reserve near the Horse and Jockey,
and thence southward to the west corner of section 165
Waimea West, thence along its south side and across
the Wai-iti, and along the road now in use through
section 65 Waimea South to the trunk line from
Richmond to Fox Hill.

To commence from the line of road known as Tom-
linson's road Waimea West, and to continue along
the line of road now in use up Eve's Valley and over
the saddle, and to the village of Thorpe, and by a
continuation of the same line of road down the valley
of the Dove to the road leading up the valley of the
Motueka.

To commence from the main line of road between
sections 72 and 73 square 2, and to take the line of
road now in use leading over the saddle into the
Wild Boar Valley, and down that valley, and con-
tinuing along the same line of road until it joins the
main line of road at the upper Moutere between
sections 96 and 4 on square 3.

To commence at the main line of road known as
Tomlinson's road, and to take the line of road laid
out through section 154 Waimen West to the bank
of the river Wai-iti, and across the Wai-iti and
along the road known as White's road to Dixon's
corner.

To commence from the south-eastern boundary of
sections numbered 158 and 159 Waimea East square
1, and to continue along the line of road now in use
through the village of Appleby, thence once along
through the section 200 Waimea East to section
10 Waimea West, thence by the same road
through the villages of Upper and Lower Moutere to
section 165 Motueka district square 3, thence along
its southern and eastern boundaries, and passing
through the village of Motueka and over the rivers
Motueka and Riwaka, and by the same line of road
to Mr. Cook's and over the Takaka ranges to the
southern boundary of section numbered 19 square 8,
and to continue along the line of road now in use
across the rivers Takaka and Waingaru to the land-
ing place at the Waitapu.

To commence from the main line of road leading
from Appleby to Motueka, and to take the line of
road now in use through section numbered 187
Waimea East to the banks of the river Waimea,
thence across the said river in the direction of Red-
wood's-gate, and thence along the line of road to the
gravel reserve at the south-west angle of section 60
Waimea West.

To commence from the main line of road between
sections 171 and 172 and 199 Motueka district
square 3, and to continue along the line of road now
in use over the ranges and crossing the valley of the
Waiwhero, and thence to the river Motueka at a
point below the junction of the Orinoco stream with
that river, and to continue along the road now in
use leading up the valley of the Motueka to the
mouth of the river Baton.

To commence from the main line of road at section
67 square 3 Orinoco Valley, and to continue along the
line of road now in use until it strike the main line of
road in the village of Thorpe.

To commence at the jetty at Motueka and to con-
tinue along the line of road now in use to section
