PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor ALFRED SAUNDERS, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS a Proclamation was issued by the Superintendent of the said Province, on the Ninth day of September, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-two, prohibiting the killing of certain birds and animals, specified in the said Proclamation: Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby revoke the said Proclamation, so far as relates to the Killing of Pheasants, during the month of August next, in the Districts of Motueka, Pangatotara, and Lower Moutere, as constituted under the authority of the Education Act, passed by the Provincial Council of the said Province.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this Twelfth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
