APPLICATIONS FOR DEPASTURAGE LICENSES, in accordance with the Regulations under the Waste Lands Act, 1858, received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the Month of NOVEMBER, 1861.
W. B. WRIGHT—District of Wangapeka.
Bounded on the east, by a bush or swamp, by estimation four miles from the Motueka River; on the south by the Wangapeka River; on the west, by a range of hills running between the Rivers Wangapeka and Baton in an irregular line; and on the north, by a range of hills.
Estimated extent, under 6,000 acres.
Deposit paid, £10.
THOMAS BRUNNER—District, The Wai-au-ua.
Being for the excess of acreage over twenty-thousand acres applied for on the 23rd July, 1859, by Mr. Sharp, and included in the following boundaries given by him:—on the north, by the Rivers Hope and Wai-au-ua; on the east, by a line running due south for three and a half miles, the line commencing about a mile below the junction of the Kakapo Creek with the Wai-au-ua; on the south-west, by a line running up the Kiwi Creek.
Extent, under 10,000 acres.
Deposit paid, £15.
W. WHITEHORN—District, The Grey.
Bounded on the north north west, and west north west, by straight lines, 14,600 and 18,000 links respectively; east north east, by the River Mawhera-iti; south south west, by the River Grey; south south east, by a straight line 13,500 links.
Estimated extent, 4,400 acres.
Deposit paid, £10.
W. WHITEHORN—District, The Grey.
Bounded on the north north west, and west, by the River Grey and straight lines 14,000 links and 15,500 links respectively; south west and south, by the River Ahaura and by straight lines 13,500 links, 27,000, and 20,200 links respectively; south-east and east-south-east, by straight lines 15,000 links and 26,000 links respectively; and north north west, by a straight line 28,400 links.
Estimated extent, 17,600 acres.

CHARLES EMPSON—District, The Upper Wai-au-ua.
Bounded on the northward, partly by a line drawn from the River Doubtful to the River Boyle; on the eastward, from the junction of the Rivers Boyle and Lewis by the limit of the available country to a small stream on the River Hope, about three miles eastward of the junction of the Hope and Boyle; southward, by the River Hope; and westward, by the limit of the available land at about one mile on the River Hope from its junction with the Boyle, and continuing to about one mile up the River Doubtful.
Estimated extent, under 10,000 acres.
