November 29, 1861.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the undermentioned ALLOTMENTS of LAND will be put up to Auction, at the Crown Land Office, Nelson, on SATURDAY, the 4th of January, 1862, at Twelve o'Clock noon.

Ten per cent. of the purchase money to be deposited at the Sale, and the remainder to be paid within one month, or the deposit forfeited.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
