WHEREAS, by an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand,
intituled "The Provincial Elections Act,
1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor to delegate to the Superintendent of any Province the power of appointing and removing Returning Officers, and of
establishing Polling places for the election of
Superintendent or of Members of the Provincial Council of such Province. And whereas
His Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore
Browne, C.B., Governor of the said Colony,
by warrant under his hand bearing date the
3rd day of August, 1861, did delegate to me
the said John Perry Robinson, as Superintendent of the said Province of Nelson, the
above recited powers.

Now, therefore, I the said John Perry
Robinson, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested, do hereby appoint

ALEXANDER LeGRAND CAMPBELL,
Esquire,
to be Returning Officer for the Electoral
Districts of Motueka and Moutere in the
said Province.
