APPLICATIONS for DEPASTURAGE LICENSES, in accordance with the Regulations under the Waste Lands Act, 1858, received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the months of July, August, September, and October, 1860:—
John Holliday
District—Admiralty Bay.
Bounded on the south by Hallam Cove; on the west, by a line drawn from the west corner of Hallam Cove to Dora Bay; on the north, by Admiralty Bay and Cook Strait; and on the east, by Pelorus Sound.
Estimated extent—10,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
T. R. Hacket
District—The Grey.
The grass plains at the junction of two tributaries of the Grey flowing from the northward into that river at about from thirty to forty miles from its mouth; these plains being situated upon the second river westward from the main stream or Grey, viz., the branch which flows down from the pass to Tatrinui, and bounded by the bush.
Estimated extent—Under 20,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£30.

District—Maruia.
Commencing at the junction of the River Warwick with the River Maruia; thence in a north-easterly direction by the said River Warwick for three miles; thence by forest land to the Kopi-o-kai-tangata, or Cannibal's Gorge; thence crossing the River Maruia, and proceeding in a south-south-west and westerly direction by the edge of the forest land to the Ruhu stream; thence bounded by the forest land extending from the Ruhu stream to Mount Burnett, to the point where the River Warwick falls into the River Maruia.
Estimated extent—25,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£50.
Augustus Roberts
District—The Grey.
Situated on the east bank of the Mawhera-iti, and about four miles above its junction with the Grey or Pohateroa. Bounded on the northward by a line at right angles with the River Mawhera-iti, and running one mile from the same; eastward, by a line running parallel with the Mawhera-iti for one mile and a quarter; southward, by a line at right angles with the Mawhera-iti for one mile from the bank of that river; and westward, by the Mawhera-iti: the application to include all the grass flat marked BB on the map of the district.
Estimated extent—1,200 acres.

ALTERATION OF ROAD.
Wakapuaka, October 26, 1860.
I, THE undersigned, ALEXANDER WRAGG, of Wakapuaka, in the Province of Nelson, Farmer, hereby give NOTICE that I intend to APPLY to two or more Justices of the Peace having jurisdiction in the said province, at a MEETING to be held on WEDNESDAY, the 19th day of December now next, at the Court-house, Nelson, for an Order for STOPPING-UP and DIVERTING the undermentioned ROAD: And I hereby give further notice that I will, on or before the 3rd day of November next, cause Survey Plans respectively of the Road proposed to be stopped up and of the Road proposed to be substituted for the same, together with Book of Reference containing the names of the owners, lessees, and occupiers of the lands through which the new road is intended to pass, and the estimates of the expense of the respective works, to be deposited with the CLERK to the MAGISTRATES, and with Mr. ALEXANDER WRAGG, of Suburban North, for the District of Suburban North:—
To stop up part of a certain road in the District of Suburban North, running through Sections numbered respectively 21 and VIII. on the plan of the district, and known as the boundary line on the plan of the Province of Nelson, commencing at the angle of Section 21, and continuing through Section numbered VIII. in the said district.
And to substitute in the place thereof a certain other road in the said district, 75 links in width, commencing at the same point as the line proposed to be stopped up, and continuing the same width and in the direction shown on the plan accompanying the application.
