APPLICATIONS for DEPASTURE LICENSES, in accordance with the Regulations under the Waste Lands Act, 1858, received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, during the months of May and June, 1860.
Thomas Carter . . District—The Clarence.
For all the available country on the south of the Clarence, between the southern boundary of my run, and the range on the south side of that river; likewise what is available immediately adjoining the eastern boundary.
Estimated extent—10,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
J. G. Gordon . . District—Amuri.
Boundaries—On the Northward, by the River Conway; Eastward, by the sea; Southward, partly by the River Wai-au-ua, and partly by a branch of the same river, called Tuahuka or Eden; Westward, by the Gelt and a small branch of the River Eden. The position, boundaries, and acreage of this application to be decided by the Commissioner of Crown Lands after the survey of the run has been furnished him.
Deposit paid—£30.
Robert Hooker . . District—Upper Motueka.
For so much Crown land, between the Runs Motueka and Wai-au-ua, as shall be found in excess of the quantity originally estimated in the run formerly licensed to W. G. Bell, and now transferred to him (R. Hooker).
Estimated extent—2,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£5.
Wm. M'Rae . . District—The Amuri.
Being for an extension of the north-west boundary of the run at present held by him.
Estimated extent—Under 3,000 acres.

John Poynter . . District—The Wai-au-ua.
Boundaries—On the Northward, by a line drawn from the summit of the grassy peak to the junction of the stream in Maling's Pass with the Wai-au-ua; Eastward, by the River Wai-au-ua, 7 1/2 miles; Southward, by the River Ada, for about five miles; Westward, by a line drawn from the banks of the Ada, at a distance of about five miles, to the grassy peak.
Estimated extent—10,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
A. Oliver . . District—The Upper Waiau, or Grey.
Boundaries—On the North, by that branch of the Grey, variously called Boyle or Hope, forming the southern boundaries of the runs applied for by the Trustees of Mrs. Nicholson, and Messrs. Kingdon and Jeffery, thence from the easternmost angle of the same river, upwards, as far as the boundary of the run applied for by Captain Rough, thence following the same boundary across the valley of the Waiau. On the East, by runs which have been already applied for; on the South by the river line Ahaura, and a line taken from its source to meet the south end of the east boundary; on the West, by a line running north and south between the said branch of the Grey and the Ahaura, so as to contain 20,000 acres of pastoral land.

A. Oliver . . District—Upper Waiau.
Boundaries—On the East, by the dividing range between the Clarence and Waiau, from the source of the latter river to the eastern end of the northern boundary of land applied for by Mr. Travers; South and East, by the northern boundary of the runs applied for by Mr. Travers, crossing the Waiau, thence along its western bank to the junction of the Ada, thence up the Ada, and following that stream and following the boundaries of the said runs applied for by Mr. Travers, to the saddle between the Grey branch of the Grey and the Maruia; West, by a line taking a northerly direction from the said saddle; North, by a line uniting the above-mentioned eastern with the western boundary, so as to contain 20,000 acres of available pastoral land.

James Hackworth . . District—The Grey.
Being for the grass country situated on both sides of a branch of the Grey (called the Boyle), below the runs at present applied for by the trustees of Mrs. Nicholson and that of T. R. Hacket, on the north side of the Boyle, and bounded as follows:—North, by unavailable hills on the north side of the Boyle; South, by unavailable country on the south side of the Boyle; East, by a line drawn at right angles to the general
