certain districts in which that Act should come into operation: Now therefore I, the SUPERINTENDENT of the Province of Nelson, do hereby proclaim, constitute, and appoint the following districts, in which the said in part recited Act shall come into operation; that is to say—

THE SUBURBAN NORTH DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north-west and north by the sea, from the boundary of the town of Nelson to the mouth of the river Wangamoa; on the east and south-east partly by the river Wangamoa, from the sea to a point four-and-a-half miles up the river, and partly by a line from the last-named point running twelve miles in the direction of the mud-hut in the Motupiko valley; on the south-west and west by the districts of Waimea East and town of Nelson.

WAIMEA EAST DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north-east by the town of Nelson and by the district of Suburban North; thence on the south-eastwards by a straight line in continuation of the south-eastern boundary of the district of Suburban North for a distance of ten miles; thence on the south-west by a straight line running at right angles to the last line until it cuts the Wairoa river; on the west thence by the Wairoon and Waimea rivers to the north-east corner of Section No. 2, Waimea West; and on the north by the district of Waimen West as far as the north-east corner of Rural Section No. 1, Waimea Islands; thence by a line across the mud-flat to the western extremity of the Quarantine Ground, and thence by the sea to the town of Nelson, where the north-east boundary commences.

WAIMEA SOUTH DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north by the southern boundaries of the districts of Waimea East and Waimea West; on the east thence by a line running south-west for thirteen miles; on the south thence by a line running north-west for five miles to the Wai-iti river, and thence by the Wai-iti river to Section No. 13, Waimea South; and on the west thence by a line to the south-west corner of Section No. 189, Moutere, where the northern boundary commences.

WAIMEA WEST DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north by the sea from the west entrance of the Waimea river to the south-east end of the Rabbit Island; thence to the south of the south-east corner of Rural Section No. 1, Waimea Islands; thence along the north shore of Haven Island to its western

extremity, thence by a line across the Waimea mud-flat to the north-western extremity of Rural Section No. 2, Waimea Islands; on the east thence by the western shore of the same island, and by a line from thence to the north-east corner of Section No. 2, Waimea West, and from the last-named point by the Waimea river to Section No. 126, Waimea West, and thence by the Wai-iti river to Section No. 113, Waimea South; on the south thence by the northern boundary of the district of Wai-mea South from the Wai-iti river to Section No. 189, Moutere; and on the west thence by a line for three-and-a-half miles to the south-west side of Section No. 97, Moutere, and thence by the road through Sections Nos. 97, 191, and 192, and along the mud-flat to where the northern boundary commences.

MOUTERE DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north by a line along high water-mark from Section No. 204, Moutere, to Section No. 20, Moutere; on the east thence by a line to Section No. 192, Moutere, and thence by the western boundary of the district of Wai-mea West; on the south thence by a line from the south-west corner of Section No. 189, Moutere, to the south-east corner of Section No. 22, Moutere, and thence to the south-west corner of Section No. 60, Moutere; and on the west thence by a line to Section No. 44, Moutere, and thence by a road to the Moutere river at Section No. 5, and thence by the Moutere to where the northern boundary commences.

MOTUEKA DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north and east by a line running along high water-mark from the mouth of the Motueka river to the mouth of the Moutere river; on the south thence by a line to Section No. 172, Motueka, and thence by the western boundary of the district of Motueka; and on the west thence by a line along the west side of Section No. 60 to the Motueka river, and thence by the Motueka river to where the northern boundary commences.

RIWAKA DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north-east and east by a line along high water-mark from the north point of Torrent Basin to the mouth of the Riwaka river; on the east and south thence by a line along high water-mark to the mouth of the Motueka river, and thence by the Motueka river to the north-west corner of Section No. 60; on the west thence by a line for eleven-and-a-half miles to Section No. 28, Riwaka; and on the west and north-west thence by a line from the south-west corner
