ELECTION OF ONE MEMBER OF THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.

PROVINCE OF NELSON, TO WIT.

WHEREAS a Writ, under the hand of his Honor EDWARD WILLIAM STAFFORD, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, bearing date the Nineteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four, hath been directed to me, JOHN POYNTER, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Returning Officer for the Town of Nelson, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently and in manner and form prescribed by law, One Person to serve as Member of the Provincial Council for the Town of Nelson :

Now therefore I, the said JOHN POYNTER, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give notice that I appoint TUESDAY, the Fifth day of September next, at noon, at the Court House, for the Nomination of One Member for the Town of Nelson; and, in the event of a poll being demanded, I hereby further appoint SATURDAY, the Ninth day of September next, at the Court House, Nelson, for the Polling to take place. The Polling to commence at Ten o\'clock in the forenoon and close at Four o\'clock in the afternoon of the said day.
