All Public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those Persons to whom they may relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor EDWARD WILLIAM STAFFORD, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand.

I, the SUPERINTENDENT of the Province of Nelson, do hereby PROCLAIM that the undermentioned allotments of LAND will be put up to AUCTION, at the Crown Land Office, Nelson, on THURSDAY, the 28th day of January, 1854, at Twelve o'clock at noon.

Ten per cent. of the purchase money to be deposited at the Sale, and the remainder paid within one month, or the deposit forfeited.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
