By his Honor Arthur Penrose Seymour, Esquire, Superintendent of

the Province of Marlborough, in
the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by Clause III of “The
Gold Fields Act, 1866,” it is
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time by proclamation
to constitute and appoint any portion of
the Colony to be a Gold Field under the
provisions of the said Act, and the limits of
such Gold Field from time to time to alter
as occasion may require: And whereas by a
warrant bearing date the Fourth day of
May, 1870, under the hand of his Excellency the Governor, and the public seal of
the Colony, the said recited power within
the Province of Marlborough was delegated unto me, Arthur Penrose Seymour,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
said Province: And whereas it is expedient to extend the limits of the Pelorus
Gold Field in the said Province.

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Penrose
Seymour
, the Superintendent as aforesaid,
do by this proclamation extend the limits
of the said Gold Field, so that the same
shall include:

All that portion of the said Province
which is bounded towards the North
by Paul’s Run from the summit
of the range between the Pelorus and
Kaituna Valleys to the South-eastern
corner of Section 77, Pelorus Valley;
thence towards the North by the
said section to its South-western
corner; thence by a right line to the
South-eastern corner of Section 58,
Pelorus Valley; thence by that section to its South-western corner;
thence by a right line to the Southeastern corner of Section 1, Pelorus
Valley;
thence by the Southern
boundary of that section to the
Watershed of the Wakamarina River;
thence towards the West by the said
Watershed to the summit of the
dividing range between the Pelorus
and Kaituna Valleys, and towards
the South and East by the said
summit to the starting point.

Given under my hand, and issued under
the seal of the said Province of
Marlborough, this Twentieth day of
November, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-two.

PROCLAMATION.

Governor from time to time, by Proclamation, to constitute and appoint any portion of the Colony to be a Gold Field
under the provisions of the said Act, and
the limits of such Gold Field from time to
time to alter as occasion may require:
And whereas by a warrant bearing date the
Fourth day of May, 1870, under the hand
of his Excellency the Governor, the
said recited power so far as regards the
Province of Marlborough, was delegated to
me, Arthur Penrose Seymour, Superintendent of the said Province: And whereas
it is expedient to alter the limits of the
Wairau Gold Field in the said Province:

Now therefore, I, Arthur Penrose
Seymour
, the Superintendent as aforesaid,
do hereby proclaim and declare that a line
parallel with, and three miles to the north
of, the North Bank of the River Wairau,
shall be, on and after the day on which
this proclamation shall be published, the
Southern boundary of the Wairau Gold
Field aforesaid, instead of the River Wairau as declared by a certain proclamation
given under my hand, and issued under
the seal of the said Province on the
Twentieth day of May, 1870.

Given under my hand, and issued under
the seal of the Province of Marlborough, this Nineteenth day of
November, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-two.

PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor Arthur Penrose Seymour, Esquire, Superintendent of
the Province of Marlborough, in
the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by Clause 13 of “The
Municipal Corporations Act,
1867,” it is enacted that the Superintendent of the Province in which any single
Borough is situate may, if he shall have
received a petition to that effect signed by
one fourth of the number of persons liable
