PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Arthur Penrose Seymour, Esquire, Superintendent, of the Province of Marlborough, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by the Third Section of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” it is enacted that the Superintendent of any Province may, from time to time, by proclamation, declare that any or all of the parts of the said Act, numbered 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 shall extend and apply to any Highway District constituted, or to be constituted, by or under any Provincial Act heretofore or hereafter to be passed, or to the inhabitants, ratepayers, or governing body of any such District, as the case may require.

And whereas the Provincial Council of the said Province has passed a resolution recommending the Superintendent to declare that the second, third, fourth, and sixth parts of the said recited Act shall extend and apply to Highway Districts constituted, or that may hereafter be constituted under any Act passed by the said Provincial Council.

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Penrose Seymour, the Superintendent aforesaid, do hereby proclaim and declare that Parts two, three, and six of “The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” shall, from and after the second day of May instant, be in force and apply to the Boards of the Counties of Picton, Wairau, Awatere, Pelorus, and Kaikoura, and to the Boards of Works for the Towns of Picton and Havelock, and to the inhabitants, ratepayers, and governing bodies of such Districts, Counties, and Towns.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the said Province of Marlborough, at Blenheim, this First day of May, 1872.
