IN pursuance of "The Marlborough Waste Lands Act, 1867," notice is hereby given, that Leases of the following Runs will be put up to Public Auction, at the Survey Office, Blenheim, at noon, on Friday, the Ninth day of September, 1870.

One-tenth of the first year's rent, and of the premium (if any), must be paid in each case on the fall of the hammer, and the remainder within one month, or the deposit will be forfeited.

Okaramio Run—District of Kaituna Valley; containing about 1840 acres. Formerly leased to George Mortimer. Upset rental, £5 per annum.

Raydala Run, No. 2—District of North Bank of Wairau; containing about 1120 acres. Formerly held under license by Edward Christopher Wyvill. Upset rental, £7 per annum.

Portion of the Ravenscliff Run—District of Queen Charlotte Sound; containing about 5800 acres. Formerly held under license by William Woodgate. Upset rental, £10 per annum.

Kaikouras Run—District of Kaikoura; containing about 19,500 acres. Formerly held under license by Charles Ruck Keene and George Ruck Keene. Upset rental, £40 per annum.

Plans of the above runs may be inspected, and any information relating thereto obtained, at this office.

IT is hereby notified, that a LEASE for Fourteen Years of the GOVERNMENT RESERVE forming the Eastern side of Picton Harbour, and containing about 470 acres, will be put up to Auction at the Survey Office, Blenheim, at Noon on FRIDAY, the Ninth day of September, 1870, at the upset rental of £5 per annum.

A Plan of the Reserve can be seen at this Office, and at the Police Station, Picton.

BOROUGH OF BLENHEIM.

IN pursuance of sections 144, 240, and 241 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Council of the Borough of Blenheim, to contract a Loan of One Thousand Pounds (£1,000) on the security of a Special Rate of sixpence in the Pound, the said Loan bearing interest at the rate of eight per centum per annum, for the purpose of erecting permanent Protective Works, to prevent the overflow of the Opawa and Omaka rivers; the interest to be payable half-yearly, on the first day of April and the first day of October in every year, at the Bank of New Zealand, Blenheim, and such principal money being payable on the first day of April, 1878, at the Bank of New Zealand, Blenheim.

The above proposition will be considered by the Council on Tuesday, the 16th day of August next.
