PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Arthur Penrose Seymour,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Pro-
vince of Marlborough, in the Colony
of New Zealand, &c., &c., &c.

In accordance with Clause 17 of "The
Marlborough Education Act, 1865,"
I, Arthur Penrose Seymour, Esquire, Super-
intendent of the Province of Marlborough,
do hereby order that a meeting of the
Ratepayers of the District of Blenheim
shall be holden at the Council Chamber,
Blenheim, at noon on Tuesday, the Fifth
day of April next ensuing, for the
purpose of electing Three Householders
resident within the said district, to be the
Local Committee of such District for the
ensuing year.

And I do hereby further order that
such election shall be conducted in manner
provided by a certain proclamation issued
under the hand of William Henry Eyes,
Esquire, as Superintendent, and the public
seal of the said Province, and bearing date
the Fourth day of February, 1869.

Given under my hand, and issued
under the public seal of the said
Province of Marlborough, this
Twenty-ninth day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and
seventy.

EDUCATION NOTICE.

In accordance with the provisions of "The
Marlborough Education Act, 1865," it
is hereby notified that Monday, the 25th
day of April next, between the hours of
Ten a.m. and Four p.m., is fixed for the
payment of the Household Rate of Twenty
Shillings for the year ending the Thirtieth
day of June, 1870, and that such rate is to
be paid to the Schoolmaster, or such other
person as may be duly authorized to receive
the same, at the School-house in each dis-
triet respectively throughout the Province
of Marlborough; and Notice is also given
that legal proceedings will be taken for the
recovery of any rates not then paid.

Dated at Blenheim this 29th day of
March, 1870.
