A DECISION in favour of the following applicant for a Pastoral Lease has been given in accordance with "The Marlborough Waste Lands Act, 1867"—

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor WILLIAM HENRY EYES, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS, the Secretary of the Board of Education has notified to me that a vacancy has occurred in the Local Committee for the District of Blenheim:

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM HENRY EYES, Esquire, the Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, by virtue of the power vested in me by clause 18 of "The Education Act, 1865" do hereby appoint and proclaim that a meeting of the Ratepayers for the said District, shall be held at the Council Chamber, Blenheim, on SATURDAY, the seventeenth day of July, 1869, for the purpose of electing one qualified person to fill up the said vacancy, and I do further appoint and proclaim that such election shall be conducted in the same manner as provided by the proclamation issued under my hand, bearing date the fourth day of February, 1869.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Marlborough, this second day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

IT is hereby notified for Public Information that

Constable JOHN P. PAAP

has been appointed Rate-Collector for the District of Kaikoura under clause 27 of the "Marlborough Education Act, 1865."

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.

NELSON DISTRICT.

Between Arthur Beauchamp, James M'Beth, and William Welford, Plaintiffs; and Godwin George Hood, Defendant.

WHEREAS by a writ of Fieri Facias issued in this action, and directed to me, I am commanded of the real and personal estate of the above named defendant to be caused to be made the sum of ninety-two pounds ten shillings and six pence, together with interest upon the said sum at the rate of eight pounds for every hundred pounds by the year, from the first day of May, 1869, together with two pounds (£2) for the said writ, besides sheriff’s poundage, officer’s fees, and expenses of the said execution.

Now, I hereby GIVE NOTICE that I shall cause to be sold by public auction by Mr. HENRY DODSON, at his Auction Mart, in the town of Blenheim, in the Province of Marlborough, on Saturday, the twenty-eighth day of August, 1869, at the hour of two o’clock in the afternoon, unless the said debt or sum of ninety-two pounds ten shillings and six pence and interest as aforesaid, be sooner paid, together with the said sum of two pounds, besides Sheriff’s poundage, officers’ fees, and expenses of the said execution, ALL THE ESTATE, right, title, and interest of the said GODWIN GEORGE HOOD, of in and to all that parcel of land, containing 535 acres more or less, situated at Okiwa, in Queen Charlotte Sound, in the Province of Marlborough, the boundary of which said parcel of land commences at a point marked A in the plan annexed to the memorial of the judgment in this action, and runs on the following bearings with the magnetic meridian, 0° for 9500 links; 50½° for 7200 links; 134° for 1500 links; 45½° for 3000 links; 314° for 2400 links; thence the boundary is formed of an arm of Queen Charlotte Sound running in a south-westerly direction to a white pine tree standing alone at the mouth of a blind creek; thence 7400 links in a line running about north and south, so as to include the buildings and tramway occupied by ALEXANDER DUNCAN, to a point in the southern boundary of a piece of land of which this is a portion, late the joint property of JAMES M’BETH and AUGUSTUS ADOLPHUS ALEXANDER HOOD; then easterly 90° for 3900 links to the starting point, save and except 100 links from high-water-mark, and also excepting any necessary roads required for public purposes.
