INQUIRIES having been made respecting a person named James Battersby Wray, of Hawksbury Mills, Canada West, America, by profession a Civil Engineer, and who is supposed to have been surveying on the Waikiwi Plains, Southland, in September, 1863. Any person who may be able to give any information respecting him is requested to communicate with the Chief Surveyor of Southland.

APPLICATION for a Pasture License, received by me in accordance with the Land Regulations of 1st July, 1856 :-

Boundaries—“Towards the North-East by Endeavour Inlet; towards the South-East and South partly by Queen Charlotte Sound, and partly by Maori and Government Reserves; again towards the North-East by Section 93; towards the West and North-West by the Kenepuru Sound Freehold Land, and a line following the base of the Hills on the right bank of the Kenepuru River, extending from the head of Kenepuru Sound to the head of Endeavour Inlet, excepting the Freehold Land within the above boundaries.
Estimated extent—8,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
