were presented to the Governor of the said
Colony for Her Majesty’s assent, and the
said Bills were reserved for the signification of Her Majesty’s pleasure thereon:

Now, therefore, I, the Governor of New
Zealand, in pursuance of the provisions of
the said in part recited Act, do, by this
Proclamation, signify and proclaim to all
whom it may concern, that the said Bills
have been laid before Her Majesty in
Council, and that Her Majesty has been
pleased to assent to the same.

House, at Auckland, and issued
under the seal of the Colony of
New Zealand, this twenty-ninth
day of August, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four.

of the Peace, or Solicitor of the Supreme Court.

Auckland, 26th July, 1864.

IT is hereby notified that the present
arrangement under which provision
is made at the Public Expense for the
passages of Taranaki Refugees from the
Province of Nelson, and from other Pro-
vinces of New Zealand to New Plymouth,
will terminate on the first of October next,
and that after that date, no claim for the
cost of such Passage will be Entertained by
the Government.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Arthur Penrose Seymour,
Esq., Superintendent of the
Province of Marlborough.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, intituled
"The Provincial Reserved Bills Act,
1858," it is provided, whenever any Bill
shall have passed the Provincial Council
of any Province, and shall have been re-
served by the Superintendent for the sig-
nification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon,
such Bill shall not have any force or
authority within the said Province until the
Superintendent shall signify, either by
speech or message to the Provincial Council,
or by Proclamation in the Government
Gazette of the said Province, that such
Bill has been laid before the Governor, and
that the Governor has assented to the
same:

And whereas an Act for the "Prevention
of Fires, 1864," and an Act for the "Regu-
lation of the Police Force of the Province
of Marlborough, 1864," were passed by the
Provincial Council of Marlborough during
their eighth Session, but were respectfully
reserved for the signification of the Gover-
nor’s pleasure thereon.

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Penrose
Seymour, do hereby proclaim and notify
that the above-mentioned Acts, having been
duly laid before His Excellency the Gover-
nor, and the Governor having assented to
the same, are, under the provisions of the
said recited Act of the General Assembly,
in full force and authority within the Pro-
vince of Marlborough from the date of this
Proclamation.
