PROCLAMATION.
By His Honour WILLIAM ADAMS, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled
"The Provincial Reserved Bills Act, 1858,"
it is provided, whenever any Bill shall have passed the Provincial Council of any Province, and shall have been reserved by the Superintendent for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon, such bill shall not have any force or authority within the said Province until the Superintendent shall signify, either by speech or message to the Provincial Council, or by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province that such bill has been laid before the Governor and that the Governor has assented to the same: And whereas "An Ordinance to establish in the Superintendent Executive Power for the government of this Province," and "An Act to repeal the Nelson Education Ordinance and Acts" were passed by the Provincial Council of Marlborough during the late sessions, but were respectively reserved for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon.
Now, therefore, I, William Adams, do hereby proclaim and notify that the abovementioned Ordinance and Act having been duly laid before His Excellency the Governor, and the Governor having assented to the same are, under the provisions of the said recited Act of the General Assembly in that behalf made and provided, in full force and authority within the said Province, from the date of this proclamation.
