PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor JOHN DAVIES ORMOND,
Superintendent of the Province
of Hawke's Bay, in the Islands of
New Zealand.
WHEREAS under the provision of
the "Highways Act, 1871,"
passed by the Provincial Council of
Hawke's Bay, it is provided that the
Superintendent may, for the purposes
of the Act, from time to time, by pro-
clamation, divide the province, or any
part thereof, into districts, and in like
manner to alter and amend the names
or boundaries of, or abolish any such
districts, and to create new districts.
And whereas it is expedient to alter
and amend the districts known as
Turiroa, proclaimed March 7, 1871; Te
Mata, proclaimed May 2, 1871; Wai-
marama, proclaimed May 2, 1871; Kaikora
West, proclaimed April 15, 1872;
Kauranaki, proclaimed April 15, 1872;
Oero, proclaimed April 15, 1872;
Patangata, proclaimed April 15,
1872; Mohaka, proclaimed April 15,
1872; Peka Peka and Patoka, pro-
claimed April 15, 1872; Seventy-Mile
Bush, proclaimed April 15, 1872; Tamu-
mu and Pourerere, proclaimed April 15,
1872; Turiroa, proclaimed April 15, 1872;
Tutaekuri and Okawa, proclaimed April 15,
1872; Wainui and South Porangahau, pro-
claimed April 15, 1872; Waipawa East,
proclaimed April 15, 1872; Raukawa, pro-
claimed February 6, 1873; Waipawa West,
proclaimed February 6, 1873; North Rua-
taniwha, proclaimed February 5, 1873;
Kereru and Aorangi, proclaimed July 5,
1873; Waipukurau, proclaimed October 29,
1874; Central Ruataniwha, proclaimed Oc-
tober 29, 1874.
And to create other districts in lieu
thereof, and also to create new districts
Now, therefore I, JOHN DAVIES
ORMOND, Superintendent of the Pro-
vince of Hawke's Bay, in virtue of the
powers vested in me in that behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that
the Proclamations dated respectively
March 7, 1871; May 2, 1871; April
15, 1872; February 5, 1873; July
5, 1873; and October 29, 1874;
shall, so far as regards the districts
therein created, which are named ro-
spectively
Turiroa, Te Mata, Waimarama, Kaikora
West, Kauranaki, Oero, Patangata, Moha-
ka, Peka Peka and Patoka, Seventy-Mile
Bush, Tamumu and Pourerere, Turiroa,
Tutaekuri and Okawa, Wainui and South
Porangahau, Waipawa East, Raukawa,
Waipawa West, North Ruataniwha, Kereru
and Aorangi, Waipukurau, Central Rua-
taniwha.
-Be rescinded as from the date
hereof.
And I do further declare and pro-
claim that every of the several areas of
land described in the Schedule to this
Proclamation and the boundaries there-
of, as severally laid down in such Sche-
dule, shall form a separate Highways
District under the respective names of
Porangahau, Eparaina, Tamumu, Oero,
Te Mata, Waipukurau, Makaretu,
Ruataniwha, Waipawa, Patangata, North
Ruataniwha, Kereru and Aorangi, Kaki-
raawa, Raukawa, Marackakahu, Okawa,
