PROCLAMATION.
By John Davies Ormond, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province
of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of
New Zealand.
I, JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Su-
perintendent of the Province of
Hawke’s Bay, do hereby proclaim that on
THURSDAY, the 2nd day of April, 1874,
immediately after the sale of the Suburban
Sections at Norsewood, the Commissioner
of Crown Lands will offer to public compe-
tition, under the provisions of the Land Re-
gulations now in force in this province,
the Sections that are referred to in the
Schedule hereunto annexed, and at the
upset prices mentioned therein.

described in the annexed Schedule, being
not more than one-thirtieth part of the
public lands in the district in which the
same are situated, are, from the date hereof,
reserved from public sale for general
educational purposes, under the additional
Land Regulations of the Province of Wel-
ington of the fifteenth February, 1855.

SCHEDULE.
- Puketitiri Bush, 500 acres.
All that parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 500 acres, more or less,
situate in the Patoka District, and be-
ing a portion of the original Puke-
titiri Reserve. Bounded as follows:—
Commencing at peg No. 1 on the bank
of Mangatuitiuti, which empties itself
into the Mangatu River, on the
Southern boundary of the Puketitiri
Reserve, distant 140 chains from the
Southern corner of that reserve;
thence following a line in a North-
Easterly direction, a distance of 5980
links; thence due West, a distance of
10,250 links; thence due South, a
distance of 5650 links, to the Southern
boundary of the aforesaid Puketitiri
Reserve; thence following along that
boundary a distance of 8340 links to
the commencing point.
- Tautane Block, 9700 acres.
All that portion of the Tautane Block,
starting from the North-Eastern
boundary line of the reserve for Qua-
rantine ground, at a point 2 miles 40
chains North-West of the mouth of
the Pakuku Creek; thence running
Northerly on a magnetic bearing of
about 346 degrees 30 minutes, until it
strikes the Northern boundary line of
the Tautane Block; following Wester-
ly along that boundary line, until it
meets the aforesaid North-Eastern
boundary line of the Reserve for
Quarantine ground, and along the
boundary line to the starting point.
- Pahiaha Sections.
All those Sections on the map of Pakiaka,
called by the name of the Pakiaka
Rural Sections, and being the Sections
numbered 23, 29, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35,
36, 37, 38, 39 and 40, on the said map,
containing 985 acres.
- Kereru Bush Sections.
Being those Sections on the map of the
Kereru Bush, numbered 29, 30, 31,
and 32, containing 78 acres.
- Porangahau Reserve, 1147 acres.
All that parcel of land, containing by ad-
measurement 1147 acres, more or less,
situate in the Porangahau District,
and being the Porangahau Rural Sec-
tions Nos. 5, 6, 12, and 13 (formerly
reserved as commonage); bounded on
the North-East by Porangahau Rural
Sections Nos. 7 and 11, 5950 links and
7650 links respectively; on the South-
East by Porangahau Suburban Sec-
NOTICE.
WHEREAS by Proclamation, dated
30th October, 1873, under the provi-
sions of the “Meanee Toll-gate Act, 1872,”
it was notified that tolls would be levied,
and notice was given that the road from
Napier to Taradale would be open for
horse traffic only, from the 3rd of Novem-
ber. It is now further notified that, on
and after the 1st day of March, the road
will be open for Wheel Vehicles and
general traffic, and the tolls fixed in the
“Meanee Toll-gate Act, 1872,” will be
levied.
