PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor JOHN DAVIES ORMOND,
Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS under the provisions of the "Highways Act, 1871," passed by the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay, it is provided that the Superintendent may, for the purposes of the Act, from time to time, by proclamation divide the Province, or any part thereof, into districts, and in like manner to alter and amend the names or boundaries of, or abolish any districts, and to create new districts. And whereas it is expedient to alter and amend the districts formerly known as Waipukurau Road Board District, South Ruatanuiwha District, and South Ruatanuiwha District No. 1, and to create Districts in lieu thereof, which shall hereafter be known as the Waipukurau District and the Central Ruatanuiwha District.

Now, therefore, I, John Davies Ormond, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, in virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Proclamation dated the 8th July, 1873, shall so far as regards the District therein created, called the Waipukurau District, be rescinded as from the date hereof; also that the Proclamation dated the 5th October, 1872, shall so far as regards the District therein created, called the South Ruatanuiwha District, be rescinded as from the date hereof; and also that the Proclamation dated the 29th March, 1871, shall so far as regards the District therein created, called the South Ruatanuiwha District No. 1, be rescinded as from the date hereof. And I do further declare and proclaim that every of the several areas of land described in the Schedule to this proclamation as the boundaries hereof, and severally laid down in each Schedule, shall form a separate Highway District, under the respective names of Waipukurau District and Central Ruatanuiwha District, within the terms and meaning of the said "Highways Act, 1871."

Waipukurau District.

Starts at the junction of the Mangatarata stream with the Tuki Tuki river, follows up the Mangatarata to its junction with the Tangitupera, and up that stream to the boundary line of the Hapuku Block; thence along that line in a westerly direction to the Ngahape stream, following that stream to its source; thence in a south-westerly
