THE following appointments, made by His Honor the Superintendent, are
hereby notified for general information:—

Joseph Rhodes, Esq.,
Alexander Kennedy, Esq.,
John A’Deane, Esq.,
to be Members of the Executive Council
of the Province of Hawke’s Bay.

IT is hereby notified for general information, that I have received and accepted the resignation of

Samuel Locke, Esquire,
as member of the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay, for the town of Napier.

To all to whom these presents shall come,
Greeting:

WHEREAS by the “Militia Acts Amendment Act, 1862,” it is enacted
that the number of days or hours for the
meeting of the Militia of any district for
training and exercise, shall be from time
to time fixed by the Governor, and that it
shall be lawful for the Governor, or such
person as he shall appoint as his Deputy for
that purpose, to call out the whole or any
part or number of any Regiment, Battalion,
Corps, or Company, as he shall think fit.

Now know ye that I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand,
in exercise of the powers vested in me
by the said Act, do hereby fix twenty-four
as the number of days, and two hours on
each day as the number of hours, for the
meeting of the Militia of the District of
Napier, who shall be called out for training
and exercise by my Deputy hereinafter
named. And I, the said Governor, do hereby
appoint

John Davies Ormond, Esquire,
my Deputy, for the purpose of calling out
for training and exercise, the whole or any
part or number of any Regiment, Battalion,
Corps, or Company, in the said district, as
he shall think fit.

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief, in and over
Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand,
and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, at the
Government House at Wellington,
this eighteenth day of September, in
the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-nine.
