inflicted, as provided for in Section No. 7 of the Militia Act 1862, all men who fail to enrol or to attend the training.

No. 2. The Major Commanding calls upon all the Officers of Militia and Volunteers to exert themselves to prevent men evading the Militia Laws by absenting themselves from drill and which evasion cannot but create dissatisfaction in the minds of those who regularly attend.

No. 3. As these first parades are for the purpose of enrolling and organisation, the whole of each Company or Troop will parade at the places named, with the exception of Nos. 4 and 5 Companies, which will parade in detachments as directed, after which Captains will select such places for drilling their companies as they may deem most convenient for the men—reporting to Head Quarters the places they have selected, and forwarding Muster Rolls of their companies to the Adjutant of Militia and Volunteers, Napier, without delay.

By order,

E. WITHERS,
Capt. and Adjutant.
