THE following Warrants defining Districts under “The Coroners’ Act, 1858” are published for general information.

Warrant defining District under “The Coroners’ Act, 1858.”

By his Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, Knight Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-chief in and over her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c.

WHEREAS by “The Coroners’ Act, 1858,” the Governor is empowered, in the manner therein mentioned, to appoint fit persons to be Coroners of the several Districts of the Colony of New Zealand, and from time to time to define the Districts within which such Coroners shall respectively have jurisdiction, and every such definition to revoke or amend, and the limits of such Districts to alter as occasion may require. Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance of the said power and authority, do hereby define the District of

Napier,

in the Province of Hawke’s Bay, to be all the territory comprised within the limits following, that is to say:—On the North by the boundary of the Province of Hawke’s Bay; on the East by the Sea Coast as far as the Manawarakau stream; on the West, by the Ruahine Range and boundary of the Province of Hawke’s Bay; and on the South, by the Northern boundary of the Waipukurau District.

Given under my hand, at the Government House, at Auckland, this twenty-sixth day of March, One thousand, eight hundred and sixty-two.

to be all that piece of ground situated in the Township of Napier, and Province of Hawke’s Bay, bounded on the North and North-East by Coote-road, on the East by Beach-road, on the South by Suburban Section No. 89, and on the West by Suburban Section No. 84; the Hospital is situated on Hospital Re-

Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance of the said power and authority, do hereby define the District of

Waipukurau,

in the Province of Hawke’s Bay, to be all the territory comprised within the limits following, that is to say:—On the North by a line drawn from Taumata-a-Makuru in the Ruahine Range, due East to the junction of the Mangataurie Stream with the Tukituki, thence by the South Bank of the Tukituki to its junction with the Mokokariki Stream at Hawea, thence by the South bank of the Mokokariki to Te Tuhi, thence by a right line to Matahuia on the Manawarakau Stream and thence by the Manawarakau Stream to the sea; on the East by the sea; on the South by the boundary of the Provinces of Hawke’s Bay and Wellington; and on the West by the Ruahine Range, being the boundary of the Provinces of Hawke’s Bay and Wellington.

Given under my hand, at the Government House, at Auckland, this twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand, eight hundred and sixty-two.
