PROCLAMATION.
By JOHN CHILTON LAMBTON CARTER, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.
I, JOHN CHILTON LAMBTON CARTER, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, in virtue of a Warrant dated the 26th day of August, 1861, under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, delegating to me the power of appointing and removing Returning Officers, and also of appointing and establishing Polling Places for the election of members of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay, do hereby, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by the said Warrant, appoint the following persons to be Returning Officers for the respective Electoral Districts set opposite to their names.
JOHN RUSSELL DUNCAN—Waipukurau.
FREDERICK JOHN TIFFEN—Wainarama.
WILLIAM HENRY HUNTER—Porangahau.
GEORGE SISSONS COOPER—Te Aute.
ROBERT RIDDELL—Mohaka.
JOHN CURLING—Town of Napier.
PETER CHEYNE—Napier Country District.
WILLIAM RYDER DOBBS FERGUSON—Clive.
Dated this eighth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one.
