PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury intituled “The Education Ordinance, 1873,” it is among other things provided that the Superintendent may, under the provisions of Section 26 of the said Ordinance, declare any portion of the Province not comprised within the limits of any Educational District, to be an Educational District:
Now, therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, declare the portion of the Province hereinafter described to be an Educational District, with the name and with the boundaries as are hereinafter set forth:
Wainui Educational District.
Commencing at the north-east corner of the Native Reserve; thence along the northern boundary of the said Native Reserve to the eastern boundary of Section 11277; thence northerly along the said boundary of the said Section to the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections 5587, 11284, 11285, and 15584; thence following on the Range Road to the North Peak trig. Station; thence southerly in a direct line to Crew’s Peak trig. Station; thence south-easterly in a direct line to the northernmost corner of Section 10431; thence direct to the sea and following the sea coast line to the starting point.
Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 16th day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
