PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of Geraldine have failed within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said district for school purposes:
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare an uniform rate of Elevenpence in the £ to be leviable within the said district under the provisions of the 42nd section of “The Education Ordinance, 1873,” and I do hereby appoint
WILLIAMS COLLINS ANDREWS,
as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.
Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 3rd day of February one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled “The Education Ordinance, 1873,” it is among other things provided that the Superintendent may, under the provisions of Section 26 of the said Ordinance, declare any portion of the Province not comprised within the limits of any Educational District to be an Educational District:
Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, declare the portion of the Province hereinafter described to be an Educational District, with the name and with the boundaries as are hereinafter set forth:—
SUMNER EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Bounded on the north by the Estuary, and the South Pacific Ocean; on the east by the South Pacific Ocean and Government Reserve, No. 60; on the south by the ridge of the Port Hills; and on the west by the Heathcote Valley Educational District.
Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 26th day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
