NOTICE.
SALE OF LITTLE RIVER TIMBER RESERVES.
NOTICE is hereby given that the block of the Little River Timber Reserves, specified below, will be submitted to public auction, at the office of the Waste Lands Board, Christchurch, on Friday, the 26th day of November, 1875, at 12 noon, in accordance with the provisions of the "Little River Reserves Sales Ordinance, 1869."

In the matter of "The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871," and in the matter of Frank Mardon Rickman, owner of Rural Section number 356.
WHEREAS it has been deemed expedient by the Road Board of the Mandeville and Rangiora District, to execute the works hereinafter mentioned:
And whereas proper and necessary specifications, maps, plans, sections, and elevations, as required by the above-named Act, have been prepared by the Surveyor to the said Board, and have been duly deposited at the office of the said Board within the said District, and have been open for inspection by all persons interested, as also required by the said Act; and a notice containing the several matters specified in the said Act has also been duly given by advertisement in the Government Gazette of the Province of Canterbury and in the Press Newspaper, and the notice thereof also required has been duly served on the above-named Frank Mardon Rickman:
And whereas within the period of forty days mentioned in the said Act, the said Frank Mardon Rickman gave notice to the said Board that he was neuter in respect of the taking of the land for the execution of the work mentioned in the said notice:
And whereas a meeting of the said Board was duly held after the expiration of the said term of forty days, mentioned in the said notice, and neither the said Frank Mardon Rickman, nor any person on his behalf, appeared at the said meeting to object to the taking of the said land:
Now, therefore, it is hereby ordered and directed by the Road Board of the Mandeville and Rangiora District, that the parcel of land mentioned and described in the Schedule hereunder written, shall be taken by the said Board, under and in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act; and, also, that the said parcel of land shall, from and after the time when the same shall be so taken as aforesaid, be made, used, and applied, as for and towards the increasing of the width of the road known as the Rangiora Direct Road, according to the specifications, maps, plans, sections, and elevations aforesaid.
Made under the common seal of the said Road Board, at Rangiora, in the said District, this fifteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

THE SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO.
All that parcel of land containing one rood four perches (more or less), situate in the Mandeville District, being a strip of land five chains and fifty-five links in length, and fifty links wide, as measured at right angles, commencing at the northernmost corner of Rural Section number 356; and thence following the Government Road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 226A a distance of five hundred and fifty-five links; thence southerly along the road forming the western boundary of the said section number 356 a distance of seventy-five links; thence north-easterly following a line parallel to the north-western boundary five hundred and fifty-five links to the western boundary of Section number 385; and from thence returning northerly following that boundary and a line in continuation thereof a distance of seventy-one links to the commencing point.

His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserve, temporarily, under the provisions of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz:—
1918 (in red).—Eighty acres, more or less, situate in the Malvern District, being the River Flat lying between Section 3713 and the River Kowai, commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of Section 3713, the same being about 27 chains south-west of its easternmost corner; thence south-westerly and westerly following the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that section a distance, measured in a straight line, of about 97 chains, to the north bank of the River Kowai above mentioned; and from thence returning south-easterly and north-easterly along the same to the commencing point. — For Provincial Government purposes.
