PROVINCE OF CANTERBURY.
VOL. XXII. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5, 1875. No. XLV.
PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1875," it is among other things provided that the Superintendent may, under the provisions of Section 16 of the said Ordinance, declare any portion of the Province not comprised within the limits of any Educational District to be an Educational District:
Now, therefore, I, RICHARD JAMES STRACHAN HARMAN, Deputy-Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, declare the portion of the Province hereinafter described to be an Educational District, with the name and with the boundaries as are hereinafter set forth:β
ASHBURTON FORKS EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Bounded on the north-west by the Mount Somers Road Board District and a line in continuation thereof; on the south-west by the north bank of the south branch of the river Ashburton; on the east by the Ashburton Educational District to the north-west corner of Section 10283; thence along the northern boundary of the said Section to the easternmost corner thereof; thence two miles in straight line magnetic north; thence in a straight line to the south-east corner of Section 7987.
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 2nd day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

PROCLAMATION.
I, RICHARD JAMES STRACHAN HARMAN, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me under the seventeenth Section of "The Education Ordinance, 1875," do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, abolish the Ashley Bank and Loburn Educational Districts.
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 2nd day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1875," it is among other things provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent to alter the boundaries of any Educational District and to divide any Educational District into two or more districts or parts of districts, or to combine two or more districts or parts of districts into one, or to add portions of any district to any adjoining district, or to add any locality not being or forming part of a district to an Educational District, and in every such case the district or districts constituted or affected thereby shall be deemed to be and shall be proclaimed as provided in the said Ordinance as newly-constituted district or districts:
Now, therefore, I, RICHARD JAMES STRACHAN HARMAN, Deputy-Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the seventeenth
