NOTICE.

It is hereby notified, that in future all Appointments to offices under the Provincial Government will, in respect of the salaries which may be attached to those offices, be made subject to payment of Stamp Duty by the persons appointed, under the provisions of "The Stamp Duties Act Amendment Act, 1871."

PROCLAMATION.

WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Canterbury Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, 1872," and in pursuance of a recommendation to that effect from the Provincial Council, do hereby, with the advice and consent of my Executive Council, declare that the district comprised within the Kowai and Ashley Road Board Districts shall be an agricultural district within the meaning of the said Ordinance.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 25th day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
