chains; thence west rly at an angle
of 102 deg. 5 min, following a
straight line to the road by Geral-
dine and Orari; thence southerly
following the latter road a distance of
eighty-two chains eighty links;
and from thence returning in a line
parallel to and one mile distant from
the northern boundary to the com-
mencing point. For purposes of the
Rangitata Bridge.

No. 1238, (in red).—Fifty three acres,
situate in the Lincoln district,
bounded on the northward by the
Ellesmere Junction Road and Re-
serve No. 310, in red; on the east-
ward by the Weeden and Ellesmere
Road; on the westward by the afore-
said reserve and Section No. 4052;
and on the southward by section
6638; subject to Reserve No. 302, in
red.—For purposes of a tramway.

No. 1288, (in red).—Two hundred
and thirty-four acres, in the mal-
vern district, bounded on the east-
ward by the road forming the
western boundary of section 12872;
on the northward by the road form-
ing the northern boundary of that
section and the southern boundary
of section 12778; and on the south-
ward by the river Wakaepa.—For
road, tramway, and other purposes of
the Provincial Government.

No. 1289, (in red).—Two hundred and
seventy acres, situate in the Mal-
vern district, bounded on the north-
ward by the river Wakaepa; on
the eastward by the said river; on
the westward by section 3716; and
on the southward by a line parallel
to and fifteen chains distant on
the average from the northern boun-
dary.—For road, tramway, and other
purposes of the Provincial Govern-
ment.

No. 1342, (in red).—All that tract of land
three chains wide, containing by ad-
measurement eighty acres (more or
less), the centre line of which com-
mences at a point on the north-east
boundary of section 4973, situate
thirty-five-and-a-half chains from the
north-eastern corner thereof; thence
following a straight line in a northerly
direction through the intersection of
the Tramway Reserve by the road
forming the north-west boundary of
section 10519, until it meets the
south-west boundary of section No.
7397.—For a line of railway in con-
nection with the Rolleston and
Leeston Line.

No. 1371, (in red).—All that tract of land
one mile wide, the centre line of
which commences at the southern-
most corner of section No. 4529
on the South Road and Railway
Reserve, and runs in a southerly

direction, until it meets the north-
west corner of section No. 3163,
situate on the south bank of the
Orari river, and more particularly
delineated and described on the maps
of the Chief Surveyor, setting out and
describing the lands in the Ashburton
and Timaru districts; save and
except the land purchased and finally
reserved to date.—For a line of rail-
way.

No. 1381, (in red).—All that tract of land
half-a-mile wide, situate in the
Ashburton and Timaru districts, ex-
tending from the south bank of the
Hinds to the south bank of the river
Orari, west of and adjoining Reserve
No. 1371 (in red), save and except
the land purchased and finally re-
served to date.—For a line of railway.

No. 1388, (in red).—Fifty-two acres,
situate in the Malvern district,
bounded on the south-eastward by
section 12371; on the north-east-
ward by section 14,769; and also by
the road forming the south-west
boundary of section No. 328; and
on the south-westward by the river
Wakaepa.—For a gravel pit.

No. 1466, (in red).—One hundred and
forty acres, situate in the Ashburton
district, commencing at a point on
the north-western boundary of land
formerly Reserve No. 317 (in red),
but now abandoned, the said point
being the southernmost corner of
section 7130; thence south-westerly
following the said north-western
boundary a distance of forty chains,
and extending south-easterly a dis-
tance of forty chains in a rectangular
block, subject, nevertheless, to the
South Road; also to the Railway
Reserve No. 1450 (in red), three
chains wide, passing through the
above-described land, for which road
and reserve allowance has been made
in the acreage.—For railway pur-
poses.

No. 1467 (in red).—Two hundred and
ninety-six acres, situate in the Ash-
burton district, being part of former
reserve No. 317 (in red), but now
abandoned, bounded on the north-
drow west by the north-western boundary
of said reserve; on the south-east by
the south-eastern boundary of the
same reserve; on the north-east by a
line at right angles to the north-
western boundary, passing through
the Eleventh Mile Peg as measured
from the river Rakaia, on Reserve
No. 1450 (in red), and on the south-
west by a line parallel to the north-
eastern boundary, and distant there-
from on 80 chains. Subject, neverthe-
less, to the above mentioned Reserve
No. 1450 (in red), passing through
the above-described land, for which
reserve allowance has been made in
the acreage.—For railway purposes.
