THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS ACT, 1873.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has in pursuance of the powers delegated to him under "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873," appointed the following persons to act as Rangers within the Province of Canterbury:—

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves for Provincial Government purposes temporarily under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz.:—

No. 1764 (in red). One thousand six hundred and ten acres, more or less, situate in the Rakaia District; bounded on the eastward by the Road and Tramway Reserve, running in a north-westerly direction by sections Nos. 13997 and 11541; on the south-west by the Road and Tramway Reserve leading to the river Acheron; on the westward by section 15376; and on the north-eastward by a line parallel to the south-west boundary, and fifteen chains distant therefrom; save and except I.P.R.L. on Run No. 20, which is included within the above-described boundaries. Subject to roads.

No. 1765 (in red). Two thousand one hundred and forty acres, more or less, situate in the Rakaia District; bounded on the north-eastward by the Road and Tramway Reserve; on the south-eastward by the Road; on the north-westward by I.P.R.\'L. and M. on Run No. 20; and on the south-westward by a line parallel to the north-eastern boundary and fifteen chains distant therefrom. Subject to roads.

No. 1766 (in red). One hundred and sixty-three acres, more or less, situate in the Rakaia District; bounded on the north-eastward by the Road and Tramway Reserve, leading from the southernmost corner of section 9281; and on the south-westward and southward by a branch of the above-named Road and Tramway Reserve. Subject to roads.

No. 1769 (in red). Three hundred and eighty six acres, more or less, situate in the Ashburton District; bounded on the south-eastward by Reserve No. 1450 (in red); on the northward by sections 15847 and 16208; on the south-westward by Reserve 264 (in red); and on the north-westward by a line parallel to the south-east boundary, and fifteen chains distant therefrom; save and except those portions of Reserve 1497 and 1030 (in red) which are included in the above boundaries. Subject to roads.
