RESERVES.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Blocks
of Little River Timber Reserves,
specified below will be submitted to Public
Auction, at the Sitting of the Waste Lands
Board, to be held at the Land Office, Christchurch, on FRIDAY, the 6th of November,
1874, in accordance with the Provisions of
"The Little River Reserves Sales Ordinance, 1869."

SALE OF TOWN AND RURAL
LANDS.
HIS Honor the Superintendent directs
it to be notified that he has fixed
TUESDAY, the 3rd day of November 1874,
at Eleven o\'clock in the Forenoon, at a Sitting of the Waste Lands Board, in the Land
Office, at Christchurch, as the time and place
when a Sale by Auction of Town and Rural
Land shall take place, in accordance with
Clause 24 and Clause 35 of the Waste Lands
Regulations, and Section 8 of "The Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1873," subject to
the usual conditions of sale, and in conformity with the regulations for the disposal,
letting, and occupation of the Waste Lands
of the Crown now in force within the Province of Canterbury.
Applications will be received by the
Waste Lands Board on and up to MONDAY, the 19th day of October, 1874.

to be notified that he has made the
following Reserves temporarily under the
19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations,
viz. :—
No. 1649, in red.—Seventy-three acres,
more or less, situate at Little River;
bounded on the north-westward by
Reserve No. 222, on the north-eastward by Reserve No. 935; on the
south-westward by section 20137,
and also by lines in continuation of
the south-western boundary of the
aforesaid reserve, No. 222; and on
the south-eastward by section 19397
and a line in continuation of the
north-western boundary thereof.—
For metal reserve.
No. 1723, in red.—Two thousand and
eighty acres, more or less, situate in
the Rakaia and Ashburton Districts;
bounded on the south-west by reserves
Nos. 174 and 265 (in red); on the
north-west by a line in continuation of the north-western boundary
of the latter reserve; on the southeastward by the main South Road,
and on the north-eastward by a line
running parallel to the general direction of the north-eastern bank of the
River Rakaia, and distant half-a-mile
on the average therefrom. Save and
except land purchased and reserved
to date, and also those portions of
C.A.P. Rights Nos. 283 and 287, included in the above description.—For
Provincial Government purposes.
No. 1725, in red.—Five acres, more or
less, situate in the Timaru District;
bounded on the southward by section
16699; on the westward by the road
running through that section in a
northerly direction by section 17516;
on the northward by the continuation of the road northward of the
latter section, and on the eastward by
a line at right angles to the northern
boundary so as to include the required quantity.—For Gravel Pit.
No. 1726, in red.—Five acres, more or
less, situate in the Timaru District;
bounded on the north-east by the
road north-east of section 16699; on
the north-west by the road running
through section 3609 in a northerly
direction; on the south-west by a
line at right angles to the last-mentioned road five chains distant on the
average from the north-east boundary,
