GREENPARK EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Starting at the junction of L1 Creek with Lake Ellesmere; thence northerly and north-easterly up the said creek to the north-west corner of section 7644; thence northerly up the creek and lagoon to the north-west corner of section 9515; thence easterly along the northern boundary of said section to its north-east corner; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of section 9525, and easterly along the southern boundaries of sections 10211, 9449, and southerly along the boundary of section 4727 to the River Halswell; thence southerly along the River Halswell to the road to the south of section 4870; thence easterly along this road to its junction with the Reserve for road and drain purposes (the said reserve being to the east of section 11432) thence southerly along the said reserve to Lake Ellesmere, and westerly along the shore of the Lake to the starting point.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Canterbury Temporary Mining Reserve Act, 1869," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of Canterbury, by Proclamation, to temporarily reserve from sale any lands in which he shall have good reason to believe that precious metals exist: Provided that no such reservation shall continue in force beyond the end of the Session of the Provincial Council next after the issue of such Proclamation.

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in virtue of the powers enabling me in that behalf, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land described in the schedule hereto.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 3rd day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

SCHEDULE.

Six hundred and forty acres (more or less), situate in the Waitangi district, being a rectangular block of land situate west of the eastern branch of the Waihoa River, 138 chains 60 links from east to west, and 46 chains 20 links from north to south, the southern boundary being situate 14 chains south of and parallel to the northern boundary of Run No. 69, and the eastern boundary about half-a-mile on the average from the branch of the river above-mentioned.

NOTICE.

EDUCATION RATE, 1874-75.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has in accordance with Section 56 of "The Education Ordinance, 1878," appointed

JOHN FOSTER

as the person to whom the annual sums payable under the 55th Section of the said Ordinance in the East Oxford District shall be paid on or before the 17th October next, and that he has fixed the Collector's residence as the place at which such payment shall be made.
