PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of Leeston have failed within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said district for School purposes:
Now, therefore, I, RICHARD JAMES STRACHAN HARMAN, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare an uniform rate of one penny halfpenny in the Β£, to be leviable within the said district, under the provisions of the 42nd section of "The Education Ordinance, 1873," and I do hereby appoint
JAMES CARSTON
as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this 26th day of August, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1873," it is among other things provided that the Superintendent may, under the provisions of section 26 of the said Ordinance, declare any portion of the Province not comprised within the limits of any Educational District to be an Educational District:
Now, therefore, I, RICHARD JAMES STRACHAN HARMAN, Deputy Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me do hereby, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, declare the portion of the Province hereinafter described to be an Educational District, with the name and with the boundaries as are hereinafter set forth:β
PORT LEVY EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Commencing at the north-east corner of section 780; thence along the northern boundary of said section and section 3762 to the north-west corner of the latter section; thence north-westerly in a straight line to the north-east corner of section 6702; thence westerly along the northern boundary of said section to its north-west corner; thence westerly in a straight line to the north-west corner of Pre-Emptive Right; thence south-erly along Pre-Emptive Right to its south-west corner; thence southerly in a straight line to the south-west corner of section 21124; thence along the southern boundary of said section to its south-east corner; thence easterly in a straight line to the south-east corner of section 15724; thence in a straight line to the ridge
