Mechanism—The principles of construction of the steam-engine, threshing-machine, and Mechanics, and exercises on "effective work," "specific gravity," &c., &c., and calculations upon it.
Land Surveying—Chain-work, and calculations upon it.
Geography—Physical and political generally; mapping.
History—Ancient and Modern, generally.
For Girls :—Instead of Mechanism and Land-Surveying, an improved knowledge of the subjects substituted in the 3rd year.

Progressive Lessons in vocal music (class singing), and in Linear and Free-hand Drawing, might advantageously be given throughout the course, where such instruction could be had.
