PROCLAMATION,

WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of Papanui, have failed within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said district for School purposes :

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare an uniform rate of One Penny in the Β£, to be leviable within the said district, under the provisions of the 42nd section of "The Education Ordinance, 1873," and I do hereby appoint

WILLIAM MUNRO

as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 20th day of June, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

PROCLAMATION.

I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by "The Canterbury Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, 1872," and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby proclaim and declare that the enclosure erected by the Mandeville and Rangiora Road Board on the parcel of land commencing at the south-east corner of Reserve No. 94, thence in a northerly direction along the North Road a distance of two chains seventy-five links; thence at a right angle in a westerly direction, a distance of one chain fifty-two links, to the Woodend and Rangiora Road; thence in a south-easterly direction to the starting point, a distance of three chains fifteen links shall be deemed and taken to be a public Pound within the meaning of the above recited Ordinance, from and after Saturday, the 4th day of July, 1874.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 18th day of June, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has been pleased to appoint

JOHN FRANCIS STANBURY

to be Poundkeeper to the Little River public pound vice J. R. Gilliat, resigned. This appointment to date from 2nd April, 1874.
