Chief Surveyor of the Province of
Canterbury, setting out and describing
the town of Ashburton. For General
Government purposes.
No. 1644, (in red.)—1140 acres, more or
less, situate in the Waitangi district,
bounded on the south-west by Re-
serve, No. 642 (in red), on the north-
west and south-east, by lines in con-
tinuation of the north-west and south-
east boundaries of said Reserve, and
on the north-east by a line parallel to
the south-western boundary, drawn
through a point on the centre line of
Railway reserve, situate 20 chains
south of the 29-mile peg: save and
except Reserve No. 639 and portions
of Reserves Nos. 377, 631, 953, and
1816, which are included within the
above-described boundaries, and for
which allowance has been made in
acreage. For ferry, railway, and
telegraph purposes.
No. 1645, (in red.)—All that piece or
parcel of land containing by admea-
surement two roods, more or less,
being sections Nos. 92 and 93, situate
in, and fronting on Shearman street,
in the town of Waimate. For
education purposes.
No. 1646, (in red.)—Five acres, more or
less, situate in the town of Waimate,
bounded on the north-westward by
Queen-street, on the north-eastward
by the south-western bank of the
gully situate south-west of Victoria
terrace, on the south-east by a line
parallel to the north-west boundary,
and 11½ chains distant therefrom, and
on the south-westward by a line at
right angles to the aforesaid street, so
as to include the above quantity, save
and except Reserve No. 1582 (in red).
For purposes of the Provincial
Government.
No. 1647, (in red.)—Ten acres, more or
less, situate in the town of Waimate,
having 10 chains frontage to the
south-eastern side of Queen street,
and extending south-easterly 10 chains
in a rectangular block; the north-
west corner of the above described
land is situate at the angle of the
street about 17 chains south-west of
the westernmost corner of Reserve
No. 1582 (in red). For a recreation
ground.
No. 1648, (in red.)—Ten acres, more or
less, situate in the town of Waimate,
having 10 chains frontage to the
south-eastern side of Queen street,
and extending south-easterly 10 chains
in a rectangular block south-west of
and adjoining Reserve 1647 (in red).
For a gravel pit.
No. 1650, (in red.)—All that tract of land
three quarters of a mile wide, situate
in the Ashburton and Timaru dis-
tricts, west of and adjoining Reserve
No. 381 (in red), extending northerly
from the northern bank of the river
Orari to a point on the western
boundary of the aforesaid Reserve,
bearing from trig. station No. 65A,
N. 29deg. 30min. E. (mag.), and
distant therefrom about 3 miles 25
chains. For a line of railway.
No. 1651, (in red), Two hundred and
twenty-six acres, more or less, situate
in the Oxford district, bounded on
the north-eastward by the river Eyre,
on the north-westward by I.P.R.'s
G.H. on Run No. 1, on the south-
westward by the Eyre road south,
and on the south-eastward by H.P.R.
on Run No. 35, and a line in con-
tinuation of the north-western bound-
ary thereof. For a recreation ground.
