PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS under the provisions of section 15 of "The Canterbury Sheep Ordinance, 1872," it is provided that a rate shall be such of sufficient amount to pay the whole expenses of the department of the Inspector of Sheep for the current financial year.

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby declare and give notice that a rate of six shillings to be paid for every five hundred sheep is struck for the said purpose, and I hereby authorise

to receive the same.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1873," it is amongst other things provided that the Superintendent may, under the provisions of section 26 of the said Ordinance, declare any portion of the Province not comprised within the limits of any Educational District to be an Educational District:

Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, declare the portion of the Province hereinafter described to be an Educational District with the name and with the boundaries as are hereinafter set forth:β€”

LAKESIDE EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.

Commencing at the north-western corner of Reserve 915; thence south-easterly along Taumutu and Bridge's Road to the easternmost corner of section 5867; thence along the western boundaries of sections 4049 and 7041 to the southern boundary of said section; thence along the northern boundary of section 10933 to the south-west corner of section 9444; thence to the south-west corner of section 7042; thence along the southern boundaries of sections 7042, 6651, 6652, 6670, 6679 and 10062, to the southern corner of the last mentioned section; thence along the eastern boundaries of the same section and section 9459 to Pohan's Road; thence along the same road to Bridge's Road; thence along the high bank of the Lake and eastern boundaries of sections 10462, 9467, 8828, 9157, 8929, 9690, and eastern and northern boundaries of reserve 684 to Birdling's Brook; thence along the said brook to the north-eastern boundary of Reserve 208; thence by the said boundary to the Tramway Reserve; thence along the north-western boundary of Reserve 207 to the easternmost corner of section 5878; thence along the high bank of the Lake to the north-east corner of section 9584; thence along the northern boundary of the said section to its north-west corner; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of section 5878 to the south-east corner of section 8941; thence along the northern boundary of section 5878 to the eastern boundary of sections 9489, 9708, 10766, 10791, 10934 and 12141; thence southerly along the said eastern boundaries of sections 9489, 9708, 10766, 10791, 10934 and 12141 to Birdling's Brook; thence by the said Brook to the north-east corner of section 5824; thence along the western boundary of section 9709 to Hart's Road; thence along the said road to the starting point.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1873," it is among other things provided, that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent to alter boundaries of any Educational District, and to divide any Educational District into two or more districts or parts of districts, or to combine two or more districts or parts of districts into one, or to, add, portions of any district to any adjoining district, or to add any locality not being or forming part of a district to an Educational District, and in every such case the district or districts
