PROCLAMATION UNDER "THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS ACT, 1873."
I, WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, by virtue of the powers vested in me by "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873," do hereby, by and with the advice of the Executive Council, proclaim and appoint the "Native Game" as defined in the fifth schedule to the above recited Act, shall be hunted, shot, taken, or killed, within the Province of Canterbury, namely, the months of April, May, June, and July.
Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

PUBLIC NOTICE.
HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the Provincial Government Offices will be closed on Good Friday, on Saturday, the 4th ins., and on Easter Monday and Tuesday; also that there will be no sitting of the Waste Lands Board on Easter Monday, the 6th inst..
