PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1873," it is among other things provided that the Superintendent may, under the provisions of Section 26 of the said Ordinance, declare any Portion of the Province not comprised within the limits of any Educational District, to be an Educational District:
Now, therefore, I, William Rolleston, Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, declare the portions of the Province hereinafter described to be Educational Districts, with such names and with such boundaries as are hereinafter set forth:
NAME OF DISTRICT.
East Christchurch Educational District ...
BOUNDARIES.
Commencing at the junction of Colombo Street with the North Town Belt;
thence easterly by the Town Belt to
the south-east corner of section 287;
thence northerly along the eastern
boundary of said section to its north-east corner; thence easterly by a
line at right angles to last-mentioned
boundary to Dudley’s Creek; thence
by Dudley’s Creek to western boundary of section 182; thence southerly
to south-west corner of said section;
thence easterly by the southern
boundary of said section and by a
line in continuation thereof to its
junction with section 87; thence by
the road on south bank of the River
Avon along northern and eastern
boundaries of said section, eastern
boundary of section 90, part of northern boundary of section 125, and
north-west and northern boundaries
of section 161 to the north-east
corner of the latter section; thence
southerly by the road forming eastern
boundary of section 161 and eastern
and south-eastern boundaries of section 326 to south-east corner of said
section; thence to the north-east
corner of section 301; thence southerly and westerly by eastern boundaries of said section and section 69
to the Ferry Road; thence to the
north-east corner of section 62;
thence southerly along eastern boundary of said section to the Railway;
thence by the Railway to Colombo
Street; thence along Colombo Street
to the starting point.

of section 17; thence southerly by
the eastern boundary of the said section, and westerly by the southern
boundary of said section and section
66, to the south-west corner of the

Mein’s Road, forming the south-western boundary of section 154;
thence north-westerly along the said
road to Lincoln Road; thence along
that road to the south-west corner of
section 113; thence north-westerly
