delegate in respect of the lands contained in the Schedule to the said Act, all the powers conferred by the said Act to the undermentioned persons, who shall be known as "The Temuka Park Commissioners" :

subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained.

  1. The Board shall meet at such times and places as shall be from time to time appointed by the Chairman, or when it shall be convened by him; and the business shall be conducted under such regulations as shall be determined on by the Board.

  2. The Board shall keep proper minutes and records of its proceedings, and full accounts of its receipts and expenditure, and a yearly statement of the same, together with a general report of its proceedings, shall be forwarded to the Superintendent once in every year.

  3. This delegation of powers to the Board shall not in any way affect any lease or contract now in force between the Superintendent and any person or persons in respect of any portion of the Reserve numbered 307 (in red) in the Schedule to "The Public Domains Ordinance, 1872," nor any agreement between the Superintendent and any person or persons in respect of the dedication of any portion of the said lands to any purpose of public recreation or amusement.

PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, intituled "The Education Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1872, No. 2," it is among other things provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, on the recommendation of the Board, to alter the limits of any Educational District, and to divide any Educational District into two or more Educational Districts, or parts of districts, or to combine two or more Educational Districts or parts of districts into one, or to add portions of any Educational District to any adjoining Educational District, or to add any locality not being or forming part of an Educational District to an adjoining Educational District, and in every such case the district or districts constituted or affected thereby shall be deemed to be and shall be proclaimed as provided in the said Ordinance as newly constituted Educational District or Districts :

And whereas the Board has recommended that the limits of the Lower Heathcote and Kaiapoi Island Districts respectively should be altered :

Now, therefore, I, RICHARD JAMES STRACHAN HARMAN, the Deputy-Superintendent of the said Province, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby alter the limits of the said districts, and I do hereby proclaim the districts as specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed, to be newly constituted Educational Districts within the meaning of "The Education Ordinance, 1871."

Commencing at the south-west corner of section 48; thence south-easterly by the railway line to the river Heathcote; thence following down the river to the swing bridge; thence by the estuary to the north-west corner of section 574; thence westerly in a straight line to the south-eastern corner of section 5706; thence north-westerly by a road to the north-eastern corner of section 7939; thence south-westerly along the road forming the eastern boundary lines of sections 7989 and 8980, to the south corner of the latter section; thence westerly in a straight line to the north-west corner of Reserve 212; thence westerly by its northern boundary until it meets section 4533; thence south-westerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of latter section and section 901, to the south-west corner of latter section; thence southerly along the road forming the western boundaries of sections 107 and 114 to the south-west corner of the latter section; thence north-westerly along the road forming the northern boundary of section 847 to its northernmost corner; thence southerly along the western boundaries of sections 347 and 84 to the north-east corner of section 69; thence westerly along the northern boundary of the latter section to its north-west corner; thence southerly along the Town
