PUBLIC NOTICE.
HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the Provincial Government Offices will be closed at 12 o’clock noon, on Saturday, the 9th instant, the day of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Show; and that on Monday, the 11th instant, the Offices will be closed in honour of the Prince of Wales’ Birthday.

JOHN ROCHFORT
has been appointed Surveyor in Charge of Office Work in Plotting and Compiling Maps.
The appointment to date from the 1st instant.

PROCLAMATION.
WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby summon the Provincial Council to meet for the dispatch of business at the Council Chamber, Christchurch, on Friday, the Twenty-second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, at Two o’clock in the afternoon.
Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 26th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of Arowhenua, have failed within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education, to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said district for school purposes:
