HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified, that he has been pleased to appoint
Edward Harman
to be an Assistant Surveyor.
The appointment to date from the 1st September, 1872.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that in pursuance of the powers vested in him, he has appointed
Robert Colthart
in the place of J. K. Karslake as the person to whom the annual sum payable under Clause 64 of “The Education Ordinance, 1871,” shall be paid for the Kowai Pass District.
The said sum shall be payable at Mr. Colthart’s residence on or before Monday, the 23rd day of September, 1872.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational District of Akaroa have failed, within the time limited for that purpose by the Board of Education, to contribute and pay to the Provincial Treasurer, the amount fixed by the Board as the contribution of the said District for School purposes:
Now, therefore, I, Richard James Searancke Harman, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby declare an uniform rate of Fivepence in the £ to be leviable within the said District, under the provisions of the seventeenth section of “The Education Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1872, No. 2,” and I do hereby appoint THOMAS ADAMS as the person to whom the said rate shall be paid.
Given under my hand at Christchurch, this 30th day of August, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.
