His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations, viz.:
No. 1116, in red.—Two thousand two hundred acres (more or less), situate in the Ashburton District, including Pudding Hill, bounded on the northward by a branch of the River Ashburton; on the southward by another branch of the same river; and on the westward by a straight line bearing N. 44 deg. 30 sec. E. (mag.), drawn from a point on the southern boundary, situated about three-and-a-quarter miles, measured in a straight line from the confluence of the abovementioned branches of the aforesaid river.—For educational purposes.
No. 1360, in red.—Three hundred and fifty-four acres (more or less), situate in the Christchurch District, bounded on the northward by the south-west boundary line of Reserve No. 1283 (in red), and that line produced so as to meet the road reserved along the eastern bank of the Waimakariri and the western boundary of section 7886; on the westward by the aforesaid road; on the southward by the northern boundary of section 430 and a line in continuation thereof to Reserve 1250 (in red); on the eastward by Reserve 1250 (in red) a line drawn from the north-west corner of the latter reserve to the south-west corner of section 9650; by the western boundary of section 9650; part of the south-west boundary of section 3684; the south-west boundary of section 7886; and part of the western boundary of that section; save and except Reserves Nos. 95A, 369, and 953 (in red), sections Nos. 4899, 3624, 4900, 465, 534, 538, 539, and portions of sections 9465 and 14244, and subject to existing roads and to any other roads that may be required on survey.—For planting purposes in connection with the protection of the bank of the river Waimakariri.
